ok i was drivin last night on the highway when all of a sudden my car started misfiring like crazy pull over startmessing with the intercooler pipes drive off maybe 10 mins later it happens again now i have a 97 gsx with a 6 bolt swap with 3k miles on it i was told to check my ecu codes but i didnt get any misfiring ones and it definately isnt the piping. obn magnus it says too clear the codes and run a constant rpm for 5 mins straight which i did at first everything seemed ok but sure enough 20 mins later it popped back up is there any other fix or did i do something wrong i really dont want to wait 2 weeks for a dsmlink thanks

one of my buddies went the NGK bpr7-es instead of the stock bpr6-es plugs. they worked fine for awhile, but then he started getting symptoms just like you are getting because his plugs fouled. I agree with the colder running plug being better at the track maybe but they dont last long. Plus we live in AZ where it getts damn hot. are engines are put through some abuse. however change those plugs and see if that doesnt help. then check wires. then replace motor... hehe JK...
But that is the first thing to check.

My car was misfiring like crazy as well. I put NGK plugs and MSD wires and it has stopped since.

I had the same problem out if Autozone wires, got some NGKs and never looked back.BP7ES work great w/ ignition box. They dont last long (3months).Buy the cheap copper electrode ones and change w/ every oilchange. Why spend alot on MSD when NGKs work just as good and last long too.$45 -vs-$150. Hmmm. That was 3 yrs ago and the wires haven't cracked as of today

did you do the baro wire mod per the magnus page? If not I'm inclined to think its RM CEL, even though you said it doesnt show the code. If you shut the car off and clear the codes and it goes away, I dont see how it can be anything else though ;) Ignition related misfires are usually only at some level of boost, unless you have a very bad wire or a destroyed plug. But those are easy to rule out if you have a friend with a good running dsm ;)

I have'nt put alot of miles on my swap but I have no misfire codes at all when I did drive it.

It's down for FI and TC upgrades currently.

How did you wire the CAS. I mean what kind of connections?

Mine are all soldered, shrink tube covered and are sheilded cable.

You could have a problem geting a HQ signal to the ECU from the CAS.

Check your connections and keep those wires away from stuff like the plug wires and other high voltage or high current leads under the hood.

You'll get a better signal that way too.
