HELP lauching a FWD?

i'm fairly new to manuals and i have trouble lauching. i don't feel 1st gear at all, i'm spinning the whole time. i'm on a stock turbo, is it because the turbo spools to fast or what? what is a good rpm to take off at? i have some supporting mods since i ran it at the track stock, so now wouldn't i spin more?

lower the rpm the better...all my FWD freinds launch around 2000-2300 and they stomp ass in races...
