Hey guys! This weekend I stripped my doors and put on two layers of Dynamat, but now I can't get my doors back on. We punched the holes for the plastic door pins and screws and everything, so I don't know what else to do right now!

Anyone else had this problem and solve it??

I really don't want to start cutting away at the Dynamat if I don't have to... I want to keep it as solid as possible.

Anyways, thanks for the help!

you need to cut wherever it hits...sorry to tell you.. Thats why audio dimensions didn't do it to my car except in certain spots because f cleanrance issues

oh man, that sucks....

it's too bad cuz the change in sound quality is amazing even with factory speakers (my Focal's come next week). I'm getting deep, tight bass from the stock 4" door speakers!!

oh well, I hope it comes off without TOO much trouble :(

Any suggestions for easy ways to find out where it's hitting (the **** panel is in the way!)?

I want to be able to cut off as little as possible... maybe just around the clips...

If you know off hand of any problem areas, I would love to know!

Also, do you have any idea how to get wires from the door into the cabin? I can get them (with difficulty) through the wire loom that runs between, but I can't figure out how to get them from the outer skin to the inside footwell!

take off the lower panels...kicker panels and run a really tough like plastic pole through the boot. tape the wires to it and pull it through

so leave the boot attached on the car side? Cuz i can get wires through the boot (about the same way you described), but not through the firewall into the footwells. And that's after taking off all interior panels, etc....

ummm....ya know if i had my car i could walk ya throuh it.....but ya kow it broke damn dsm. But you should just pull it out where the others come out.....it might take a little bit but keep working on it.....question though...why are yuo runnign wires

For accent and "helper" lights. The door handles are black pits at night and everyone fumbles to get out. So I was going to install a soft LED behind the handle to light it up a bit. The reason I have to use my own wires and not the factory ones (power locks etc) is that I control all accent lighting from a switch box in my console. I can turn off all lights or bring them on/off track by track.

It looks nice on the inside (zero-rice, all stock outside) and gives a cool effect for the people driving/riding in it.

you got any pics of that? that sounds amazing if it is how I picture it...

It really is, dude... and I only have about half the lights in... i'm still missing 2 on each door, and one under each seat (all I have wired up right now is footwells, boost/EGT gauges (yes I wanted to be able to turn them off as well), and the rear speaker lights. I have 4 light "tracks", with switches, and a master "kill" switch to power everything down at once (good for if I ever get stopped by a cop at night so he doesnt see racing gauges and "racey" lights inside).

My new amp is in, so as soon as that is installed, I can go ahead and wire the under-seats. I'm probably going to take the car (with wires) to a car audio place for them to help with get the wires to the doors. From there I can do the rest.

I spent a lot of hours designing the switchbox, shaping the plexiglass (lit) inserts, building reflectors (to use an LED to even light a long bar) etc... and it turned out exactly as I expected - awesome.

I'll get pics as soon as it's done! Right now it looks a bit ghetto because the door skins still aren't on. But I've started trimming the dynamat and bought some replacement mounting clips, so by the time my component speakers come next week and I get those in, I should be ready to wire the door (crossing my fingers), get the skins back on, and finish this project.

I'll keep you posted...
