Help!!!awd Rear Wheels Locked Up

OK HERE'S DEAL. I HAVE A 91 AWD 5 SPEED TALON AND I RECENTLY REPLACED MY TRANNY AND T/C WITH A JDM 22 SPLINE. WHILE DRIVING TO WORK I FELT A VIBRATION AND THEN MY REAR WHEELS LOCKED UP ON ME AND MY ABS LIGHT CAME ON. I FIGURED THAT IT WAS THE TRANS CASE SO I SWAPPED IT OUT WITH A SPARE ONE THAT I HAD AND IT STILL DOES THE SAME THING. I HAVE A 3 BOLT REAREND. WHAT ARE THE ODDS OF IT BEING MY REAREND. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. THANK YOU.

First, turn your CAPS off!!

check if there any fluid in your center diff.

Your center diff is inside your transmission so you'd better have fluid in it!

WHAT ARE THE ODDS OF IT BEING MY REAREND

Slim, but not out of the question. You need to do some diagnosis. Did the rear spin when you had the transfer case out? Did the current transfer case spin before you swapped it? Does the old transfer case spin? Are the rear brakes locked up? You need to isolate the source of the problem by eliminating the things that are working properly

After I pulled out the transfer case I checked to see if it worked properly and it does but it was a little harder to turn than the one that I replaced it with but it didn't have any slop or binding. I also checked to see if the brakes were locked up but they are not and I checked to see if the rear end was locked up which it wasn't. I checked the rear end by first rotating one wheel and the other wheel rotated in the opposite direction and the drive shaft didn't turn. So I then rotated both wheels at the same time and then the drive shaft would rotate. Right now I'm thinking that it might only lock up when it has a load on it through the drivetrain. Sounds a little out there but I can't think of anything else that it could be. I don't know if an internal tranny problem could cause this. Oh by the way thanks for the heads up on the CAPS. j/k

If you've checked the rear end and it spins freely and your transfer case spins, I'd suspect the transmission. I doubt just putting a load on the wheels will lock any thing up. Can you turn the engine by hand in gear and make the transmission turn? That would let you know if it's the tranny which is the last piece in your puzzle.
