So I bought a 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse gs 420a engine, it cranks but won’t start and has no spark, I have changed crank sensor and coil pack. Any ideas?

with the battery unplugged and let it sit? For a bit before re connectingyea, connector is supposed to face down, and make sure you have everything plugged in, I know how it is when you're unplugging and testing out stuff, it's easy to forget to plug tyhem back, wouldn't hurt to spray some connector spray in the connectors, or wd40, these are old cars so corrosion on connector pins can also cause electrics to fail
Well I just have wd40Well you mind as well, and you can do hard reset for the computer by unplugging both terminals and hook them together, it empties capacitors and does a hard reset for the ECM, spray some connector spray etc. And you can plug it back right away unless bottle says differently, they have instructions
Yeah if I can’t make a run to the store today would wd40 be good?Bottle of connector spray costs like $3 in AZ, it's useful in these cars in general so wouldn't hurt to have a bottle of that on your shelf
alright so what connectors do I hook together to reset ecuYea you can use wd40 or crc, but it's not as effective so let it soak in a few minutes amd unplug-replug a few times
To empty capacitors, hook up positive and negative cables for 10-15minutesTo reset the electrical systems all you have to do is pull the positive battery cable for 30 seconds.
Wait so ecm or ecu because isn’t the ecm behind radioI've fixed so many cars just by doing that, also erases history codes from the system
oh okay I was confusedECM and ecu is the same thing
Oh okay thank youElectronic computer module = ECM
Electronic computer unit = ECU
Different terms but means the same
ECU is universally used, ECM is more commonly used in the dealerships, makes it more formal
Oh okay thank you
I pretty much cleaned all connectors etc and reset ecu still no sparkElectronic computer module = ECM

No not yet but do you have a idea what this wire is forHave you checked for power at the coil?
Also what can I use to test power at coilHave you checked for power at the coil?
Have you checked for power at the coil?
I’ll try thatChange the camshaft sensor
Do you know what setting on this multi meterUse a volt meter or a multi meter.
The red/white wire is +12v for the power seatsNo not yet but do you have a idea what this wire is for

I’m just waiting for my friend with a scanner to come buy and hook it up.20 Vdc. 20 meaning it measures a maximum of 20 volts, you should read around 12. Vdc meaning volts direct current.
Which relays? Just because you unplugged the coil doesn't mean they don't have power.20 Vdc. 20 meaning it measures a maximum of 20 volts, you should read around 12. Vdc meaning volts direct current.
So I disconnected power to coil and the relays keep clicking.
