my clutch went up recently(at least i hope thats what it is) and a friend has a used 2600 laying around that had been ran for about 1000 miles. the disc looks great but the pressure plate surface has little heat spots on it here and there. Although it seems very minimal should i take this to a machine shop and get it resurfaced or will it be fine. also can i put the clutch in without getting the flywheel resurfaced?

Thanks for any help
Joe

As long as the blue heat spots are small and at a minimum, it will be fine. Make sure there is NO cracking in the PP. If you see cracks, pass on it. All ACT PP's get those heat marks. Nothing wrong with them. And forget what a machinist says. He will straight-edge, see a slighty bow in it, and say it's useless. They ALL bow as well. Gusy have run up to 5 discs on the same PP, with no problems. Remember, the CRACKS are your enemy.
