Well I blew my headgasket in my car, so I am stuck driving the "family" truck. Now my brother has been driving it since he is waiting to put in his SR20DET into his 240sx. Well lately the truck was running like crap. So he didn't want to drive it anymore. And since I need to something to drive I have to drive it. Well I looked under the hood, guess what the first problem is, one spark plug wire is melted through on the exhaust manifold, and two others aren't even attached to anything. So I'm a little pissed that my little brother couldn't just figure this out, fix it, and then the truck would be running fine. Well anyways I buy a new spark plug set, and now the engine runs good. But now the transmission feels really sluggish. So I check the level, not even reading on the dipstick. I had to put 2 1/2 quarts in to get it back to full. So ok now I'm thinking what a god damn idiot. So I drive around some, if you stick it in 4 wheel drive, and give it gas hard, the transmission slips real bad, so I guess he ran it a long time with it really low, and now the tranny is going to need some work. Then I decide to check everything. The coolant was low, and the power steering. He's been driving this thing a long time, and it looks like he checked nothing on it except for maybe the oil while driving it the whole time. I guess I will be changing the oil tomorrow. How can anyone expect a vehicle to drive right when it is in that bad condition?

yea i know how that is...this dude i know bought a car and it was about in that condition...we changed the plugs and wires and he said it drove like a new car...then the tranny crapped out 3 weeks later....not to mention the dude who sold it to him said it was taken very good care of....or not

When you give it back, make sure to take 3 plug wires off and drain some tranny fluid, oil, and coolant. He'll kill it, eventually, and he should learn fro his mistakes.

Well considering the clutches in the tranny are slipping, he really did kind of #### shit up, trannies aren't cheap. Also who else knows whats wrong with it now. I'm wondering if he warped the heads from overheating, I have to keep putting coolant in the engine and there isn't a leak anywhere.

Pretty much my brother killed the truck in one sweep. Tranny is almost gone, heads might be gone, and then the countless scratches, dingd and dents in it. I can't belive I've actually let him drive my car.

You don't need to look very hard to find people who abuse vehicles. Actually, one of my pet peeves is people who have nice stuff (like, off the top of my head, an '01 Celica) and don't do simple maintenance (like, say changing the oil since it was new). Unbelievable

Well what really gets me is, that he's knows somethings wrong, but he just keeps driving it. Also he is to lazy or stoned to go and try fixing it. So who gets to fix it? ME! So I always end up fixing his #### ups. I already had to do some wiring in it because he tried putting a CD player in it, and he doesn't know anything about wiring a stereo.

Sounds like my wife. I could drive a car for 5 years, she gets into it and drives it and everything falls apart. She is a plague. She broke both door handles off my 90 gsx in below zero weather, while the engine was running, at the post office! Meanwhile, I'm 40 miles away at work... Guess who she calls? Not AAA, even though she has the damned card in her pocket. ME! I coulda killed her. Like an idiot, I answered the call on the speaker phone, and promptly became the laughing stock of my entire shop. This is the only woman in history to have not one, not two, but THREE power steering pumps essentially start running backwards and pumping all the p/s fluid out of the reservior. This was on a brand new 1997 talon tsi awd. She did this with less than 5k miles on it, and then went thru 4 alternators, a throttle body, and then managed to crankwalk 3 motors to the point where they literally exploded. When the warranty ran out, so did the car... I sold it in 2000 for 14 grand and it only had 27k on it. Black with black leather and every option except auto tranny. So I feel your pain!
