Vfaq shows a method of reinforcing existing mounts using pieces made from a cutting board. Anyone ever try this? If so, he suggests a 3/8 cutting board. My girlfriend's is only 1/4, which will fit snugly, but I don't want them to pop out. Would like to know before I go destroy her cutting board.

Get a large washer with an ID to go around the bolt hole and the OD that fits just inside the OD of the mount. Then weld it solid around the outside of the mount and the bolt sleeve. $2 solid mounts!
Yes this is what i said above it works great if you cant weld it will cost you at most 50$ for everything said and done

You can buy the window weld at napa and use that to remake yours. I've done a few and they do the job. Just make sure to let them dry for a long time if you fill all at once. And wear gloves and be extra careful not to get on yourself or anything, pain to clean up. Lol ;)

Thanks a lot guys. Now I just gotta wait til I can go without driving her for a couple days to let it cure. Any tricks for removing the rear mount? I was gonna try to go in from the top after removing the battery and tray. After searching, that seems to be the consensus.
