Im looking to get a turbo here soon and saw that the hahn super 20Gs along with all the super turbos are on sale right now. The kit looks great and seems to come with everything you need. I just want to know how they perform and would like some reviews from people who run this turbo or have had experienve with it. I just wanna make sure that my money is being well spent, thanks in advance for all those who reply.

Among everything else ive dealt with.... I have found that normal 16g's and 20g's tend to have better quality in that they hold up longer, boost quicker and seem to be all around better. HRC wasn't there for customer service and they have had a lot of durability issues as well. There are lots of threads on peoples negative opinions with these turbo's.

My approach is obviously with the 10cm hotside. It doesn't make much sense to me to throw that combo together as its like haveing a 50trim with a 1.06 turbine housing. Some peole enjoy these turbo's but I sincerely feel that they haven't really experienced both as I have. They have put some some respecatable times, but I just personally like to stick with what works. For the price (even if its on sale), you will ALWAYS be able to find regular mitsu stuff for cheaper!

My advice.... get a normal 20g!!

Yea, I was going to buy one of those also. Have you used them yourself? Hahn says that they are original Mitsubishi and that they have a full factory warranty because thay have never been ported or clipped etc... The 10cm2 hotside was supposedly done to free up some top end HP instead of porting and clipping. They were saying that porting makes for more cracks.
Who else sells 20G's for the same price? What about a 20G with a 8cm2 housing?

i had a super 16G and for over 2 years, it never held boost. always leaked. when i upgraded my turbo again to a Green from FP, i realized how much of an original mistake i made with the hahn piece. hope this helps

Yes Ive dealt with both super 16 and 20g's and really didnt like either of them. I bought a friends car to part it out with a super16g. Its been known that HRC doesnt really follow through with that warranty stuff as they tend to find "loopholes". Im not going to rag on them or anything but Ill give you a few links to some cheap 20g kit stuff. The 10cm2 hotside makes for some crappy spool compared to a normal 7cm (ported or not) which seems to flow more than enough. The 16g fell apart within the warranty time and HRC wasn't there to back my bud up. I think you just know when turbo combo isnt right. Every turbo can be right according to displacement, rpm band, compression, supporting mods, stoutness of the motor....etc and I jus treally dont get why these turbo's are used for our cars. I wont get all silly about this as the choice is yours, however I hope some of these links and a little searching on your own will steer you towards the real stuff;)

The HRC 20G has a 10cm turbine housing. Real 20Gs have a 7cm turbine housing. Since a lot of people think an 8cm housing is too laggy, what do you think a 10cm housing would be like? The 10cm turbine housing is junk. I think it was meant for diesel trucks that only go to 3500rpms and run low boost.

HRC 20g is really not a good choice. This turbo isn't really a 20g. It has a 10cm exhaust housing & an internal flapper w/ no creep. The reason they can get away w/ using an internal flapper is because the exhaust housing is SOO large that only a small % of the air ever touches the exhaust blades to spin them. The exhaust hitting the exhaust blades is what makes boost.. which in turn makes power. You want as much air to hit the exhaust blades as possible to make the most power.... w/o it being a restriction. What kind of #s do people run on the super 20g? I know several people that have gone low 12s & 11s w/ a BR 20g w/ a 7cm exhaust housing. I personally ran a 12.0 @ 115 totally untuned. I just think there is too much hype out there & not enough proof. BR20g & FP turbos have several 11, 10, 9 sec cars to their credit... That's good enough for me.

These are just a few quotes from a while back. here are a few links for you lazy ass to check out ;)

IMO

1. Hahn is overprice.
2. Hahn have very few good product.. Turbo are not one of them. Ex. less then a year ago a guy I know bought one and it has shaft play.
3. Hahn told me that external wastegate is a thing of the past. That why they don't use them. WTF?? This came out of one of Hahn employees.
4. There supposted 625 injector don't flow what they claim. More then one person has complain on this subject.
I can go on but will not. Just to give you an Idea why I don't buy from hahn anymore.

I had a HRC Super16G for over a year and a half and it treated me good. I never had any problems with it and it always held boost. But there is just way too much lag with these turbos and if i had the option of doing it over again, i would've stayed away from HRC.

I still have my super 20G here. It worked great for me. The funny thing is, that people taht bad mouth it, have never used it. They may have seen one, or think they they have expierience wiht them but, whatever. My S20G worked perfect. It made 22psi by 4000. As far as quality, its the same as any other TDO5 20G, but it is in original form, wiht the 10cm housing. Slap a 6cm, or 7cm on it, and it is the same as any other 20G. BTW, Im selling it cheap.

I have experienced both super turbo's...lots of experience with them actually. 4k is just a tad bit late for my taste for a 20g. You are right that it is the same, its just the lag, customer service and price are the three main things that steer me away from ever going to them again. I never had problems holding boost or anything either, except for when it fell apart on me and we received no warranty or anything
