Hey guys! I have neen a long time member of the site and in the dsm world but have never posted a build thread so here it goes. Ill start by introducing myself and then the build with some pictures. I am about 50% through the build so there is be updating as it goes.
My name is Nate Myers. I used to be one of the Co-Owners of TPG Tuning along with Nate Silveri and Andrew Kisner. After a couple years we all split up and went our own ways. I got into racing quads but after a nasty wreck in NC I had to hang it up so I decided to get back into the DSM game.
My first purchase was a 1991 Talon TSi AWD that is in mint condition and I plan to do big things with it. It will be my drag car (starting a new thread this summer on it). Then I purchased this past fall a 1995 Talon TSi AWD auto car that was in desperate need of attention.
Picked this car up from a guy on tuners. It was a 12 hr drive there and back but for the price and the overall condition of the car I couldnt pass it up.
The car would start up but the engine was making a pretty bad lowend knocking noise. We winched it on the trailer and they way we went. The car itself came with some pretty good parts and the there was no rust on the car whatsoever which made it worth it. Once I got the car back home and put it in the shop I found that the noise was coming from main bearings being ate up. I thought at first it was crankwalk until I dropped the crank and relized it just ate the bearings on the crank side. So thats when the build starts.
I wanted to do a unique build and wanted to try to stay with alot of OEM parts. This is going to be my daily driver so I wanted to build something fun that I hope will make 400 hp and be reliable.

Reconditioned 6 Bolt rods machined for 7 Bolt crank
Evo 9 Pistons .020 over
1G Head w/ 1G Cas and oil port mod
New Oem Crank
ACL bearings (main/rod)
ARP main/head studs
ARP rod Bolts
Comp 101200 cams
Evo 9 valve springs and retainers
New oem valve seals
Supertech valves
FP Cast Exhaust Manifold
Extrude honed 1G intake manifold w/ EGR block off
1G N/T throttle body with FIAV block off
ITP Build auto trans with shift kit and high stall TC
Forced Four basic shift box w/ gear indicator (using steering wheel to shift)
ECMlink V3 w/ speed density
Boost/Oil Psi/ Wideband gauges
880 cc injectors
Wally 255
STM Filter to rail kit
STM sprung dipstick
New oem fuel filter
Fuel Lab FPR
FMIC w/ hard piping
Tial BOV
HX35
Punishment racing 02 Housing w/ Tial External Gate
3" Turbo back/ no cat/ no res.
Alt. relocation kit
Derale oil cooler kit
Aluminum radiator w/ FAL fans & silicon hoses
2.4L water pipe
Blue Tokico shocks with Tein springs
Front and rear strut bars
Evo 8 Wheels (needs PC black)
Going to do a full wire tuck and re-wrap the engine harness with heat resistant flexbraid. This is where I am at right now. The engine is built and sitting on the stand but the engine bay needs some TLC before the engine/tranny get dropped.
