Edmonton,
hey well ive had my greddy type s for a while now, and im finally deciding to screw around with my car a little, n e way, i have a boost leak somewhere which i have to find, but importantly, i am playing with the screw at the top, but nothing happens when i loosen it or tighten it. is that top part (purple part) supposed to move up and down with the bolt? cause if not i dont wee what it is doind by haven it looser. i can allready see at least 6 or seven threads. can someone help me out.

that screw is for making it not open or ope more. 6 or 7 threads i tihnk u still have 5 to go. but no that purple top should be tight on top of the bov. and make sure you only have top nipple hooked up to vacuum, leave the bottom nipple open.

k so what does tightening that bolt do? it seems to me it would do nothing if it just goes up and down that screw. and i was just tightening it like 5 minutes ago and the ####in bolt came out, i put it back in i guess... but does this mean that the bov is messed?

then you were loosening it bro....

Just put it back in and have like 5 thread showing ... see how it sounds and feels when you shift and at part throttle and then adjust from there.

no, you dont understand... the screw that sticks out from the top of the bov came out... is that safe? not the bolt, the screw. and could someone tell me what loosening that bolt does, to me it seems that it would do nothin cause it just sits on that screw and its not like its pushing down on the bov. if im wrong could someone post pics of theirs?

what bolt and what screw? All there should be is a bolt in the center of the bov up top with a nut. You loosen the nut ... then adjust the bolt ... then lock the nut back in place. The nut is only there to hold it all in place after you adjust. I think you are confused on what a screw, a nut, and a bolt is?

k, now im up to speed... i was confusing my self with this nut and bolt talk. k so how do i adjust the bolt? im so lost right now... please help me. pics if possible.

maybe hes bov is fuked up and hes tightening the nut and the screw is just loosening it self out? you need to do the following in order:

make sure the bolt is loose

adjust the screw with allan key

put the wrence (10mm) over the nut and tighten it while holding the screw in place with the allan key.

good luck

k well even though its one in the morning, i had to go outside and check out the situation.... heres the DAMN problem. the purple head of the bov where the bolt screws into, is completely stripped. i am gonna bring it in the morning to see if i can get it re tapped. any other suggetions?

could a leaky or not tight enough bov lead to slower spool time? obvioulsy boost like right??

k well i had to use a healy coil to fix the threading in the bov, tightened the bov up to where it should be, doesnt make a whining anymore after the whoooosh which is good, but i thought it would help my boost leak or my lag... but neither. whatever, boost leak test next.
