ok, a friend (who installs car stereos better than anyone i know) and i just hooked up a greddy turbo timer. no harness, we hardwired it. it turns on, we can scroll through the functions, etc...but it won't start the countdown, and won't let my engine idle. not even on acc.

we're about to re-hook up the parking brake wire to see if thats the problem. but:

did anyone else on this entire site hardwire their turbo timer? it seems like every thread about greddy turbo timer install has something to do with a harness. what i'm looking for is someone to tell me what color wire from the TT hooks to what color wires on the ignition harness. i just want to be sure we have it all hooked up right before i give up and buy a harness...i don't want to have to wait a week just to install something i should be able to hardwire.

do not tell me to:

1. search vfaq.com. they used a harness for the turbo timer install, and the evo 8 link is broken like 90% of the rest of the links on that site.
2. tell me to search...i have and found nothing all the way to page 8.

hmm...got it in, got everything working now as it should. only thing wrong is that it cuts off sometimes because the idle gets too low between the actual turning of the key and the turbo timer catching it and keeping the engine on.

and the speedometer function reads my speed as double what it actually is.
