I am thinking my Greddy boost controller (that came with the car when I bought it) isn't doing a f***ing thing except screwing up. I have my intake buttoned down, most of it is welded, so I know it's not leaking... but my car cannot maintain a stable peak boost pressure even if everything is "just perfect". It doesn't seem to make a bit of difference if the EBC is set for "mild" or "sharp", so I don't even know what the hell those terms are even supposed to apply to, and unless you have the boost knobs turned either all the way left (opens at 12 psi, wastegate spring pressure) or all the way right (have no clue where it opens or doesn't... it feels soggy and weak) there's not a bit of noticeable difference in between. I am ready to pull it off and let my dog use it as a chew toy... I know it is set up right (I checked the manual, and here), and I know the line isn't leaking. Is this basically just a box full of pretty lights they sell to kids with Hondas to make there dash a little more blinding at night? Is the stupid thing supposed to act like this? I have never used a EBC before, and I am going to be headed over to Lowes tomorrow to get the stuff to make an MBC because this riceroni LED box doesn't seem to be doing anything useful.

Anyone have anything they can share about these Greddy Profec B boost controllers that might make me think it isn't a worthless POS? ... because I am about fed up with it.

Are you internal gated? I have a spec II on my 16g with an internal gate. On the stock wastegate spring I couldnt hold steady boost. Had to shim my wastegate to apply more pressure and hold more boost. Hope this helps.

Yes, its a standard internally gated 7cm housing on a MHI TD05h-18g. You mean stick a couple washers under the mounting bracket, right? I understand how this will tighten it up, but I don't get why this would affect the behavior of the EBC solenoid... I assumed it was just basically an adjustable Hobbs switch controlled actuator set, mainly just On and Off operations. Set them at a point and boost would trigger it. I am still in the dark as to why it acts the way it does...

Never used the spec one before, I have a Spec II also. Anyway Im guessing the Mild/Sharp settings are like the Lo/Hi boost settings on the II. If the one is anything like the II you can control when the wastegate opens using the Set or Gain (Again no idea what's on the I). I can completely control n hold boost at any psi using these two functions. You have a dump on the car?

I've used 1 for many many years and never had an issue it's all in setting it up correctly, if you don't have the manual that came with it go on the greddy website and get 1 it'll help you a lot
