CHeck this out I think it's a great idea and you would utilize the stock style runners but increase plenum size and be able to throw what looks to me like a magnus style upper plenum style on a part you already have.

How do you know that will fit our cars? I meen it's a good idea but it's nice to be sure it doesn't need extensive mods..

It won't fit because the neon IM sits upside down and on the wrong side on the engine Honda style ROFL. It's just the idea that you can weld a magnus style plenum onto a stock lower plenum and have a pretty good IM I would think. I'm not saying run out and buy one like this one I found in a ebay ad but it is a good iea.

Honda Style? Technically the only car I can think of that started with the reversed engine setup, was Neons! 95... All Honda's in 95 had the IM against the firewall, exhaust up against the radiator like ours. Blame the damn Neons!

And actually, It should bolt up to our car, but wouldn't work since yeah its upside down, and pointing toward the passenger side if bolted on correct. But don't hold me to this. I played with Neon and Eclipse IM Gaskets once, seemed the exact same.

There was a company that use to make bolt-on plenae like that. I forgot who it was, but I'm sure they don't make them anymore.

IF your going to mod a Neon IM, I was thinking... that one neon dude thats on here... He has that bad ass short length Intake that just rocks, That one is what I would love to mod up.

look midway down the products page, for exactly what your looking for in a intake manifold.

1G and 2G "FATBOY" Intake Manifold. We designed and built this manifold to allow for a 75mm T/B, with this design the coil pack remains in the stock position. Using the stock runners with a larger plenum gives you better low and mid-range torque than a full race manifold. This manifold design has supported 780 hp, at the same time giving great drive thru the whole power curve. It can come with or without EGR and also for stock T/B set-ups.

PRICE = $498.00 (plus core). Colour = Gunmetal. (custom colours extra $16.00).

Edit! OOPS!. was reading the Todays post listing, and didnt pay attention to the forum the thread was in! Sorry! and i wasnt trying to push product, i simply copy'd the info over.

One you can't push products outside the vendor or classified section not that I care but the mods will delet your post and two if your gonna push something push the part for the right engine. You make a great TURBO manifold these are for NA or atleast originally NA cars.

yeah ive been doing intakes like that for neons for 2 years now............ ive made them with short runners, medium runners, long runners, ive made them to run the stock t-body, mpx t-body, mustang 75 mm t-body and ls1 t-body and right now im finishing mark bullets............ heres a pic of mock up............

thats what marks is for sir. obviosly some thing will need to be modified in order to run this on ## cars. there is no provision for egr for one........ im pretty sure the washer fluid resevoir will need to be removed or modified also and some other things that mark can point out once he gets it all sqaured away.

mike

ERG =GONE

Washer fluid resevoir = GONE

so yeah i'm prettty much set...just need it made to house the modernperformce TB, and well maybe an extra tap for my MS IAT sensor, and I'm good to go

i make all the manifolds ready to bolt on a 60mm mpx t-body (thats my neon 60mm t-body on marks manifold.......... its the same except for the throttle cam)......... that way even if they have a stock throttle body they will be ok all the way up to a 60mm t-body with the oem bolt pattern. and i can always do custom whatever. :)

The only thing that made this manifold stand out was the fact that if you could figure out the dimensions of that box upper plenum you can replicate this style with our stock manifolds and have it fit the right way.

that would be a bit easier than doing what i am currently doing for MB's......... they would be cheaper and they would give just a bit more down low (probably not even noticable to the butt dyno though) but they wouldnt get the higher hp results that MB's is going to get. ill see what i can come up with.
