Good Source for Brake/Clutch Cylinders

I got a Clutch master and slave cylinder from Oreily Auto for around $30.00 each they sell rebuild kits also but they weren't that much cheaper. Not sure about Brake Master Cylinder though. Also AutoZone had them to but they have to order them and I'm impatient.:dsm:

don't rebuild your brake master cylinder unless you absolutely need to. cast iron or not, rehoning might leave you with too much clearance for your primary and secondary cups and the seals won't provide the necessary seal to produce pressure. be safe, buy a new OEM one. don't mess with the reman stuff. that's just my o2

The company I work for sells Centric and I highly recommend them for replacement parts. So if you have a store near you that sells them I can say without a doubt you will be happy with the product. And Centric only make new ones they dont make any rebuilds so you dont have to worry about a bad rebuild.

The only diference between the diferent masters is the reservoir. Just punch it up under an eclipse and it will be easier. :thumb:

I think I got the same ones as you. They worked great, and sure don't look like rebuilds. The brake master did not come with that fluid reservoir on the firewall, but it did come with some fittings that let you prime the master cylinder with fluid before putting it in the car. I just took my reservoir off the car, and cleaned it out good. It looked like new :)
Oh, and I don't think the cruise control makes any difference on the clutch master. I don't recall there being anything connected to it that would matter.

They better not be... they are supposed to be new, according to a sales rep there :). They said all remans are marked as such.

Agreed... that is why I can't figure out why they would offer two different clutch master cylinder versions.

While I'm thinking about it... where can I get some good hose to run from the brake reservoir to the cylinder? Would HP fuel line work, or does it need to be rated specifically for brake fluid?

The diference between the cruise control and non cruise control master is the height of the reservoir and that is all.
