good size tires for 18in rims

i have a 99 eclipse gst, and i am planning to buy the Racing Hart C2s 18in x 7.5in, i was wondering what was a good tire size to go with these rims, i was thinking along the lines of 225/35/18 or 225/40/18, what do you all recommend? thanks for the help

Tire size calculator.. If you are off, your speedometer will not accurately report your speed.. Trust me, I have 215/45/17's on which should be 215/50/17, but the guy who had this car before me, didn't follow those rules..

If you went 235/40/18, that would be perfect... 7.5" width wheels are just big enough to go to 235 size tires.

if he got 235 width they wouldnt rub? i did the calculations and it said that the speedo would read 1.3 mph too slow
