After a bunch of frustrating trips to the track, I figured it's time to take the plunge and get some slicks.

GST95 has informed me of M&H Street Strip tires P235/60-15 Seems lots of FWD hondas run them and some Auto guys run them with good results.

It looks like I can buys some 15x7's off craigslist for $150. Anyone run these tires? How is the fitment of these tires in general?

My other option is the old standard, QTP's 26x9.5x16. I'd like to run them on a set of spare 1gb wheels I have. I've mostly seen them on gst wheels, but I am under the assumption that they are all the same 16X6 +46, so I'm only worried about strut clearance, as I run AGX's/Prokit. I don't really want to have to do a coil over kit as I'm going to do bilstein HD's next year.

Anyone have this exact combo? How is the fitment? Right now the car has 16x7.5 +35 K1's with 225/50-16s and I have a good .75" clearance on the side, and 1" to the top of the strut.

Any one run both? how is the traction difference?

I'm leaning toward the QTP's for 2 reasons
1. The ricer in me wants the White "Hoosier" logo's to the outside because it looks bad ass.
2. Seems like no one complains about the QTP's not hooking.

I'd probably just get the short M&H slicks everyone runs, but I don't want to keep myself out of dot tire races.

Finally heres a bit about the car. It's a 5 speed, it will always be a 5 speed. 2.0 with a hy35 at about 600whp. 3300lbs. Car consistently goes and seems to hit a wall at 11.0@132-136 with a 1.8 60'. It spins hard in first and second, and some in 3rd. I eventually want to push it a little more and get it to run low 10's @ 140mph consistently. For now I'd be happy with a 10.50ish at 133.

Please keep this as close to personal experiences as possible.

My 9.9 pass I ran the 24.5x8X15 M/Ts. Car hooked great gauging by the 1.39 60' with more on the table. In all honesty I think the 26s might be a tad to big. I was coming out of the hole on a 40R, anitlag, and around 25psi of boost. Tires where at around 17-18lbs of pressure to. On my fwd the M&H tire 1/2" wider hooked so much better and doing burnout the rubber compound would get up to temp a lot faster than the M/Ts. Cant say much for the QTPs because I just felt they where just to big gearing wise.

Another thing to point out is I saw a thread where even Jeff bush switched from the M/Ts over to the M/H slicks. He had positive things to say also.

Auto guys have all the options since the 26" slick is a much more popular size. You can get cheater slicks, a bias street/strip tire, and a full blown slick in 15", 16", and now M&H offers a 17" slick.

I thought about the height, but staying with a dot slick, both options are tall. Only thing I could do is go to a drag radial, and I already break to much shit.

I have oem first gear so I don't think it will be that bad. I can leave the line with 30psi, but I have had best results leaving the line with no launch control and burning the clutch to get it going. But I can see it will be taller. I've run 215/55 16's on it and didn't notice much of a difference in it.

I am running AGXs and Pro-Kits with a set of 15x7" Drag DR-17 wheels and the 235/60-15 M&H DOT slicks. I have no noticeable rubbing whatsoever on the struts and the tires work awesome. Cut high 1.4x to low 1.5x 60's every pass at 2900lbs. I've had them as low as 8psi and they keep their shape pretty well. The English Racing HTA68 "Little Auto" is running the same tires with Motegi Traklites, stock struts with cut stock springs, and cuts high 1.3x to low 1.4x 60's every pass at 2350lbs. Plus, the wheels and tires on the Little Auto are 10 years old (not exaggerating) as they were on Jeff Bush's old 5-spd FP3065 1G "The Turd" that went 9.6@144 about 5 years ago and they're still working perfectly. You wouldn't be sorry with the M&Hs. Plus their customer service is amazing. Tell them you're ordering 4 to be put on an AWD and they will hand pick the tires and measure them to be sure they are as close to identical as possible.

BTW, if you buy the M&Hs, use the coupon code "NEDRA" and get 15% off your order. $756.00+shipping comes down to $642.60+shipping.

EDIT: I just realized you're FWD. I still stick to what I said... :p

I just started as an M&H vender this year. I'm on the lowest tier level. But I will match the discount code from M&H.
