gas tank squeaking

Whenever I push down or up against the gas tank there's a squeaking or creaking sound coming from the passenger side of the tank on top near the fuel pump but it's not the fuel pump. I can't tell what's causing the sound because it's from the top of the tank, it's not the support bracket or shield those are on the bottom. It's very annoying because when driving I can hear it go squeak and creak. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe the gasket where the fuelpump is mated to the metal top is going bad?

sounds like the gasket might be pretty deteriorated and th metal or plastic peices are rubbing up against each other

Turned out to be the plastic cap that holds the fuel pump in place. Thanks for your help guys.
