After reading the thread here on Tuners, the one on GVR4.org, and the one on AF I have come to the conclusion that you read a damn lot of forums Mark :).

Lol...hahaah.....actually the AF forum I haven't read in a long time and when I did it was for the plastic model section. A guy on galantvr4.org posted that dumbass' thread and it went from there. Maybe I have some type of forum addiction. Between here, galantvr4.org, the NWDSM yahoo group along with other yahoo groups and dsmtalk I don't have much free time.OMG

There is one for sale in my area and I'm thinking about checking it out. Did these come with a turbo from the factory? The owner says that it's identical to a vr4 but it's not numbered and it has the gsx badges instead of the vr4 ones. Is this true? I thought the gsx's were awd NON turbo cars. Can anyone here verify this?

So if his car has a turbo it had to be put on right? Meaning theres no way it came like that. He's saying that Mitsubishi just called them Galant gsx's because they sold more vr4's than they thought they would in 91. After they ran out of vr4's and people were still ordering them they made the exact same car but just called it a gsx. Sounds believable I guess.

Found a guy selling a 1990 Galant GSX for $2500/obo and I've heard a little bit about this car. I couldn't find a forum's area through google for the Galant so I figured I would try this place out. So I was just wondering if it would be a good buy or should I steer clear of it?

the galant is a luxury car, Ive driven the 03 v6 galant and its not too roomy, but it is kinda fun to drive, pretty quick as well. But if your into sports cars and the galant isnt the vr4 model then maybe you should just buy an eclipse GSX.

Galant GSX is like a 100HP AWD 4 Door. If you need the four wheels go with it I guess.

I need a few parts, and at a local pull-a-part I found a NA galant GSX. I dont know what year, but same body style as the VR4. I need the folowing parts:

Lower bell housing cover
Transfer case
Rear engine mount
Thermostat housing

Which boneyard are you looking at (Lynwood Pull-a-part or Everett)? Are N/A Galants AWD? Which motor did you see?

Yeah i know that, my question is what parts off of it will work?

Nutshot - If i tell you are you gunna go jack all the parts a need?

They all will bolt on, but may not be right.

Lower bellhousing cover........ same.
Transfer case........... depends on year and spline count.
Rear engine mount........ I think the NA and T cars have a different tuning to them, yet are physically interchangeable.
Thermostate housing....... there is no rad cap on the housing neck. The lower portion is also different in the number of sensors on it and turbo coolant line attachment.

Find out what they want for the rear diff? No axles, just the complete rear diff.

So you are saying I can use the mounting bracket? How sure are you? Thanks for you help. Too bad I went and bought a new lower bell housing cover from the dealership... oh well it was only 6 bucks.
