Yea, tell us.

Did you get everything installed? Is she runing? Have you been for a "test" drive??

All that is left is to have the Vband added to the down pipe. Since I was able to finish up the under hood stuff today. I should be able to make an appointment with Extreme to have the exhaust work done this week.

No worries a full review will be coming shortly. Rest assured that nobody is more eager to see what that car can do then me . I think I have all the bases and supporting Mods covered at this point.

Looks like it uses a V-Band coupler..

Now I'm not sure if that's what you're going to use, but how do you bolt that thing on?? how is it held in place? I don't see places for bolts... Even though it looks really nice.

The turbo has a vband welded to the turbine housing just like the o2 housing in that picture. The 02 housing in that picture is a 2.5" 02 housing, I had no interest in a 2.5" o2 housing. I went with the 3" version that has Vbands on both ends.

Just curious if this is true, I recently emailed FP about this oil return line and they didn't mention that they wouldn't be for sale. I need a good oil return line that won't leak and FP's seems like the best.

jdmawd: You have a very nice setup, your car is going to be a beast :D. I was wondering what made you go with the Buschur COP setup. I've tried to research this kit, but came up empty handed. You don't happen to have any links that would explain this COP setup do you? Thanks.

I ain't knocking JDMAWD's setup. Hell, I'D kill to have all those parts that he has. It IS a very nice setup. We are all anxious to see what kind of #'s the car is going to put down. I seriously hope he puts down some mid 450's to the ground on race gas. Then i'll know he can tune. Then I want to see some timeslips to see if he can drive :p

Good luck and we will ALL be waiting.

Mid 450s?!?!?!!? :p

( jk ;) )

I would think that the FP3052 is capable of 600+whp well tuned. Maybe baseline of 450whp, but I've seen T3/T4s Garrett's and AGP turbo's put down more than that. The sky's the limit with that baby. :thumb:

FP claims 520 for the 3052 and 650 for the 3065. For some reason, I was thinking the 3052 was closer in size/flow to the Green. Oh well, then I hope he puts down 500 to the ground. I still wanna know if he can drive or not, cuz I can't bench race dyno sheets!!!

I don't know anything about braided return lines leaking. Its just two threaded flanges and a section if steel braided line. People have been making them on their own forever.I have no idea if mine will leak. So far I have only let the car idle until I can have my down pipe welded. No leaks so far that could change but I doubt it.

In regard to the COP there is a huge thread about COP ignition Here

They wouldn't sell it to me. I really wanted the cool SS drain line, but they said they stopped having them made and were only selling the blue drain lines now.

Oh ok, I was going with the blue drain line so I shouldn't have a problem. For some reason my hacked up 2g oil return line is leaking oil near the turbo.

Looking forward to the in depth review of the FP3052 :thumb:

It might have to do with my recent problem with their SS line.. Mine leaked and I talked to FP and I am currently sending it back for them to inspect. I exchanged it for the blue hose and it works really great.

The SS is just a PITA if you have a leak, since you have no idea where it's coming from at all, the whole braid gets soaked and oil gets to the bottom. The blue hose works and looks great so don't be discouraged.

Don't want to turn this into a turbo return line thread, but www.turbochargers.com sells one. Its braided, but its not SS, I think. Check it out.

And to keep this on the FP3052, I would think that you could definitely put down at least 500whp. I was wondering if its a good turbo for a 2.4L hybrid motor, or would the FP3065 be a better choice for the extra displacement. Just a thought to keep things going until the complete review. :thumb:

Ok.

This is what I have found so far with a little tuning. The turbo spools to 5-8 psi at any throttle position past idle, and under load. Essentially the turbo is always spooling at any throttle position. What I noticed immediately is the response and drivability. The pte 50 trim I had felt very flat and lazy under 3500rpms. Unlike the PTE, this turbo is very responsive at part throttle and during normal non spirited driving.

With some very VERY rough tuning. I basically added 3% across the board which came out to 11.9:1-11.2:1. Full boost 22 psi is reached by 3300-3400 rpms. Respool is immediate and violent, the turbo has the coolest sound of any turbo I have ever heard. The only sound i can compare it to. Is a semi when spooling on the highway in the upper gears.

O my god Adam. Tell me your not doing that, stop it.

Don't forget JDMAWD has that DNP manifold. I'm sure that helps. Good work JDM, sounds like the perfect street turbo.

Yes it does. It sounds very good. Great report so far man. :thumb:

Tuning in my opinion is done better on the road. However i do have a dyno appointment for January 13.

Well, if you think about it at the time, post the results. I am very interested in the FP 3052, I am currently running a Internally gated Green. I am very unhappy with the internal wastegate, so I will either mod the Green to a external setup or sell as is an purchase the FP 3052.

I'm looking forward to hearing your results as well Jdmawd.

Great review sure wish I had an EMS. Anyway I noticed you posted that you reach 14 psi at 38XX rpms at 100% throttle. Was this before or after you had it professionally tuned? If not was there any spool improvement after it was tuned better.

I noticed Grocmax posted that the turbine a/r was on the large side.
I have no idea how large it is, but its larger then the PTE stuff by LOTS. With my setup I am able to spool 20 or 25 psi by 3400 rpms. Boost level doesn't seem to matter the turbo spools at the same point. I went out and did a little more tuning today.

I lowered the boost the 20 psi and leaned the car out to around 12.2 up top. The low end response and pull on the big end of this turbo is extremely scary. I almost ran into the back of a bus twice.
