FMIC+14b= overkill?

I am looking at upgrading my t25 to a 14b for a while and I was wondering if getting a front mount intercooler would even help the 14b? Someone told me that it was a total overkill. I am thinking of getting the 14b ported out alot if that makes a difference. Im still considering a 16g too. Let me know what you guys think.

Make sure you always upgrade the "limiting" factor of your car. If your stock sidemount works fine for cooling for your application, use that. The worst I can foresee is a higher rpm for spool up. You will gain a colder charge but lose spool up I believe. Jake

...hmm. What type of FMIC are you going to get? A small Greddy will work fine. anything bigger, your turbine will have trouble pushing air through a big core which will = more lag. I agree with what Laser0385
said though. I have seen people run low 13'a high 12's with a 14B and a side mount. JAYHASS ran a 12.5 with a boost controller, exhaust and intake. Ever look into getting a Supra smic? decent mod for the price...

if you think you need some more cooling. go get yourself a stock toyota supra sidemount from a 93 or up. they are rated at like 350whp (which will be PERFECT, because the 14b won't normally see 350 whp). There are alot of threads on the supra sidemount and how MUCH better it is compared to our sidemount. plus you can get them for like $150-200. i think the supra sidemount would be good for a 16g too. so unless you want to go bigger, or you just want the best (i can understand, , i am the same way) then don't get the font mount.

Hey guys thanks for the info. Im thinking of just staging my upgrades. Ill keep my sidemount while I have the 14b then when I get a bigger turbo, ill get a front mount. Thanks agian.
