Just bought a 100% bone stock 97 Auto GSX. It has a ton of rust and had been sitting for a couple years so as soon as I got it back to my house I did a complete maintenance on it which included, all fluids, plugs, wires, calipers, pads, rotors, and now waiting on some coilovers and control arms.

I plan to daily drive her at the moment so going to stay mainly stock with a mild 400-500hp build. 20201202_135332.jpg 134066625_10158755992961438_2806578281336541034_o.jpg

"All/Complete maintenance" should include changing the timing belt and components ASAP, especially if it's been sitting for 2 years.. Welcome to the addiction!!

    Great find!
IMO - Before you do ANY engine performance mods, get going with engine management so you can learn how to tune the stock parts.

    Research:
    ECM Link v3
Wideband O2 kits (for accurate Air Fuel ratio logging)
MAP sensor (for accurate boost logging)

I'd be checking hard on how bad that rust is...I see alot just in the couple pics, and can only imagine what's hiding behind the rocker panels.

If the chassis is solid, then move onto spending money on t-belt and engine management etc. But if the chassis is swiss cheese, find a solid shell first.

The body has a ton of rust, frame rails, and all mounting points are still solid. I used to own a rust restoration company so I know what I'm getting into. If I wanted to make the car a show car I would find a different shell, but I just want to daily it and have fun in the car.

I have a built 2.4 block with a Jam built head and s2 cams sitting in the garage. I'm gonna finish that motor up and then swap everything into the car at once.

I am no stranger to modifying cars. Here is my other shit box.

Looks like you'll get it all figured out easily. Just be aware that the shock towers in the 2g have multiple layers where rust can hide right around the upper mounting point. Inspect it well when you're swapping out the shocks. Might not be bad at all. Congrats on finding a pretty good shell.

Nice A80 (and A90 in the background). Based on how the Supra looks I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with the 2g. :)
