Last night I tried to start my built six bolt in my 2g for the first time. I get everything hooked up and the battery hooked up. I get in the car and the interior light is on and the open door light is on. Ok everything seems good. I turn the key to "on" and nothing. None of the other lights come on that always do like check engine coolant brake etc. The window don't work and of course the motor wont crank over. What's wrong? Today I am going to check fuses and grounds. Any other ideas?

check you battery connections.. and fuses & grounds like you said!
After that.. check your battery itself!
And make sure EVERYTHING is connected.. like ECU harness and all!

Good luck

I'm starting my 6bolt swap in two weeks and this is my biggest fear. Well, that and it just blowing up right away. Go back and check all your connections. It's probably something stupid you overlooked or something. Check fuses, connections to the ECU and battery as stated before. Check your starter connection.

Well I got "that" problem fixed. The ignition switch fuse was somehow blown. Replaced it and moved a few grounds around and all was good. Get in the car. Everything works like normal. Started to get very excited and the starter just spins. My heart sank and I decide to pull the starter off. I tested it and it was all good. Then it came to mind that some how I might have got an awd flywheel instead of fwd and guess what? I did. I was pissed off! So now the tranny is back out and I am working on getting another flywheel.

Good job diagnosing the problem quickly. Sucks to hear you had an AWD flywheel instead of FWD. Was it a new in the box one?

autozone has them for 57.99 if you give them a core.
they have to special order it, and you'll get it in about three days..

Go with a new lightweight flywheel from one of the vendors?

Just get a Fidanza aluminum flywheel. Give you some quicker revs and I never experienced stalling issues with mine. Not to mention the friction surface is replaceable as well (and is cheap in price).

Hold that stock flywheel. U can use that thing as a dam free weight LOL. Then hold one of the 9lb flywheels. Thats 10lbs less of rotational mass. Not only will you rev much quicker, but it will also "free up" the lost horsepower that you were using to spin the flywheel

Ok which flywheel is the best bang for the buck? I wasn't planning on spending money on this so I guess cheap but still good quality. I don't want to regret it later. Fidanza is what I come up with for pretty much best bang for the buck. Anything else? I am running a brand new SPEC stage 2 clutch.
