So i have a 95 gs, with power windows and locks. When I bought the car the guy only gave me the key. No remotes. I was wondering where i can get a remote and how to make it open my car?

Or should I just by a remote start with the keyless entry and alarm?

i do agree with it being a wallet muncher i haven't ever had to buy a new one from the dealer but it is the dealer and of course its OEM. you could also find someone parting ut there ride and get the modual and phob that way as well

Compare it with the price of and aftermarket alarm and see which is better

Like Viper or Pursuit etc

Get remotes from eBay, then mate the new remote(s) to the transceiver.
Search this forum to mate the remote to the car; it involves shorting a couple pins in the OBD connecter, turning the key a couple of times, and hitting the button on the remote.

Unroll your driver's side window then lock your doors from the outside with the key & then reach in the car & use the inside door handle to open the door the alarm should go off & you should have a light on your gauge cluster that lights up Security when you lock the doors from the outside with the key.

I've been wondering if the OEM key less entry will "mate" with a car that has had an aftermarket alarm installed?
Meaning that at one point in time it was fully installed and functional.
Basically I don't want to order a remote and it not work, because the aftermarket alarm may have disabled or bypassed something.

Same issue here...99 Eclipse GS (Oz Edition), never got keyless remotes with the car when I bought it...and I'm in need of some GOOD (I know the E-Bay remotes are hit or miss as to whether or not they work). If anyone knows of a good reliable place to get these (besides the dealerships), please reply with a good link or PM me. Thanks!

I went to the dealership for the same thing a while back and if I remember correctly it was around 400 dollars for a new one.

I think I have a couple of these remotes laying around at home for my 99 gsx. I don't use them since I have an aftermarket alarm. I don't personally know how to reprogram them (wonder if it's in the service manual?). If someone wants one pm me. Of course I gotta find them but I don't mind selling them off.

I went to the dealership last summer and asked them to order me a remote, they charged me like 20 or 30 for the remote but wouldn't sell it to me without the cost of labor to sync it to my car. The total price was around 115, I didn't need keyless entry that bad. I think I bought some MSD ignition plugs instead.

Edit: Does anyone know if the key fobs from the 3g eclipse will work on our cars?

Any keyfob with FCC ID: GQ43VT6T will work with our cars. I don't know what the 3g's use.

I would be interested to see if the key fab in the above link works. Bought my 97 without one and wish I had it.
