Exhaust parts going bad?

So I have stock axhaust on my car... hasn't even been touched except on the engine replace a few years back. Well Lately the exhaust has sounded more and more raspy and louder. Very very recently though iy has sounded almost like there is no muffler or cat but just a rattling and raspy exhaust sound, and it doesn't sound amazing. Not horrible but not good. I was wondering what parts on an exhaust system (stock) could go bad and/or cause this sound.

You probably have a hole in the exhaust system somewhere. Any part in an exhaust can go bad.

No leaks or anything. The sound is coming from the tailpipe like usual, it just sounds much different.

muffler or resonator is probably bad.

I've read somewhere that if you put your hand over the end of the muffler with the car running it will make any possible holes/leaks in the exhaust way more obvious sounding, would be a good way to check it.

Catilatic converter is proably bad.. Just dealt with this today on my 2g gst

I was think it could be the cat but I was hoping it was. I am pretty sure it's not a leak.

When i had problems the hangars were bad one, even missing it was hitting the bottom of my car.
