Was told a lot of grinding had to be done because of the balance shaft section of the block or a spacer has to be installed to push the turbo away from the block if keeping factory turbo orientation. 180° out you'd run into clearance issues with radiator fans. Are you looking to use the oem evo turbo or the fp versions/bolt on upgrades?

I did it or rather bought the setup for $1400 from dsmraver who did it. Used factory fan radiator and no a/c fan. Custom manifold and o2 housing. If using a 2.0 you'll probably have to run a filter relocation kit, I was using a 2.4 with original ofh and 2.0 sandwhich oil cooler. I had to use an hp108 or 110 mobile one filter. Really short filter. However I did have friend at carquest find a fat and short filter to meet the clearance needs.

Here is the thread that mjcanada and myself discussed some different options for. Mjcanada has a great setup, where-as I was looking to use as many stock parts as possible. I never finished it, but still have everything but the turbo.

You'd be better off getting an X turbo and doing the manifold idea from this thread, as you'd be into everthing pretty cheaply, and could use std dsm compressor wheels and housings on the X center section, while havin TS spoolup.
