heh umm why are u even contemplating this. supra tt hands down. 420ish whp with only a bc and downpipe. stock low 13s, BPU low 12s. supra is much sexier looking too. just my .02 but yeah the new evo is a badass track car, too bad they get murdered on the highway. supra is a good track and definitely a good highway car.

He must of had some other mods. If I'm not mistaken, the stock boost is 19 psi.
I can relate with you on this some. I'm just not a big fan of 4 doors, other than that I have no problems with the looks. I don't know why in the hell they couldn't have made the Mitsu EVO or STI Suby in a two door version. For one, it would look a whole hellava alot better, two, it would probably save alot of uneeded weight, I just don't understand it, even the new SRT from Dodge has 4 doors. What is up with 4 doors now a days. Mine as well save your money and buy a Galant VR4 and build the hell out of the 6 bolt.Originally posted by jefferino
Okay I have to say it....I think that they are ugly compared to eclipses! I swear I would take a 2g ANY DAY over the new evo 8, especially if they leave those stupid taillights on them! I mean they are fast....I saw one at the track this weekend too but ughhh not really that good looking of a car.
I disagree.. I don't think two doors or 4 doors has anything to do with a vehical leaving production, or for that matter raising insurance premiums. What about the new 350Z, no cargo room and a 2 seater, it has 2 doors and it's priced right around what the EVO and STI are priced at. Anyways.. I'm 34 years old and I have never heard of a insurance company in my life time giving you a break just because a car has 4 doors compared to 2 doors. Most of the insurance companies charge high premiums if the car is considered a high performance vehical, wheather if the vehical is 4 doors or not. Also.. if your under the age of 25 you will most likely have even higher premiums. The insurance companies are not dumb, they do investigate newer cars that come into production, atleast I know my insurance company does, and I'm covered through State farm. I have all three of my vehicals covered, plus life insurance, and my home owners insurance all together in one policy, and I pay a total of $140 a month.Originally posted by 92tsiawd84
IMO I like the looks of the evo. I dont mind the four doors. For doors can be the difference between the car leaving production in four years. They put four doors on it to increase sales. I think we all know why there are no more supra's, rx-7's, and 300zx's in production anymore. They didn't sell many of them. They were not very economical to buy as they were only a sports car with no cargo room and only a two seater. By putting four doors on the car, they can also enter the sedan class and sell more cars.
A vehical with a hatchback doesn't help anyhing for lower insurance rates period. I know mine doesn't make any difference. A corvette has a hatch, or should I say a glass hatch, so I guess that will give me a small break if I indeed swap my GS-T for a C5. I don't think soOriginally posted by m1k3
You forget there is a benifit to DSMs being classified as a hatchback. And yes insurance companies do go by different classifications. While it might not lower your premium to that of a family sedan, it does help.
