hey guys i have a stock 95 gsx with eprom ecu. my turbo was burnin oil so i bought a evo 16g. i bought the 2g install kit from turbo chargers.com and it should be here today. i bought a greddy profec b spec II controller. the install kit and the turbo are here but the controller isnt here yet. can i install it without the controller? will i F up my car? let me know guys i really need to figure out if the turbo was my oil burnin problem. thanks!!!

It shoudl be fine but that depends on your mods. If you have big exhaust then it might creep and with no fuel control then it will run lean. It should only run what ever the WG actuator spring is. So if the spring is 11 lbs then it will make that much boost. You can search for other reason why your car is smoking and you will find a ton of info. Get some fuel mods and take it to the track. :thumb:

we were plannin on just runnin it at like 8-10lbs just enough to boost it. im pretty sure its the turbo cuz its not rings and you can hear the bearings on the t25. i didnt think fuel would be a big problem at 8-10lbs so thats what we are doing just gettin it drivable again till i can afford fuel mods. i have no mods on the car yet as i stated it is a stock gsx. i was just wondering with the install kit the evo 16g installed bolt up if it will be fine at like what ever stock boost is. i just didnt want to be pushing too much boost not being able to control it very well. i just am not very familiar with the turbo applications. thanks

8-10 psi should be alright... im running 15 on the stock t-toosmall and im doing fine. if i was you id get your fuel management ASAP.

also, i didnt think that the t25 had bearings? i thought i used oil as its "bearing" inside. i know some of the higher end garret turbos have ball bearings, but i dont think the t25 does. but dont quote me on that.

The Evo turbo flows a LOT more air at any given boost level then the T-25 so I wouldn't reccomend running anything greater than 10psi with your stock fuel system. If you try to crank it you'll be wishing you had kept the boost low.

I dont see why he cant run it on low boost. If he is going to run 20 lbs then yes he will need fuel support. On low boost he will be fine.

No a T25 does nto have bearings. Again, ti is hard to tell if the turbo is your problem for smoking. Check the old turbo for shaft play, but also do a leak down test on the motor to determin if it could eb anything else. It would suck to buy that turbo and not need to, then to find out you need rings or valves seals.

If you are just waiting for the EBC, then just put it on, its not gonna hurt it just by installing it and getting it ready. Idk why everyone thinks you have to drive around the streets all day boosting to like 7k and going high boost all over. If you wanted, you could just hook a vac hose up to the wg actuator and then to the boost source. It will then open up at whatever the act. spring is set for. Just dont let the turbo start building a huge amount of boost (like up to 3500, normal driving).

Other than that...... get those fuel mods. :thumb:
