I know this is a stuped question but I rather make sure before I hook it up to pull out.. where is the best places to hook up the chain to the motor to remove it from the engine bay????? I have a 420a

usually engines have designated "lift points"

look in the manual. there should be one at 2 opposite corners of the block/head.

alot of people remove them as "weight savings"

I had to go to a junkyard to recover mine when i removed my engine

Pretty much any bolt hole in the block or head that is 8mm diameter or bigger will work fine.

If your engine is stock, those "lift points" (not sure what else to call them) are on the front/driver's side corner and rear/passenger's side corner of the engine. They look like conspicuous black painted steel tabs that point up.

i usually recommend using a load leveler when pulling an engine. This allows for 4 points of contact with the engine as well as the ablility to tilt the motor either which way you need to to make it clear. It really comes in handy when you're pulling a motor and transmission together.

I just pulled mine last week and attached the 4 points to the intake and exhaust manifold bolts/studs.

If you look just right of the last exhaust port on the header you will see that black tab... thats what it looks like then as Paul said just look for the other one. Some people remove these not knowing what they are.
