engine differences

Is there any difference between a 91 fwd 4g63 and a awd 4g63...I don't think there is, but I want to make sure.

Not in the engine itself... that I know of...

Yes 91's are 6 bolts it is either the late 92's or 93's that they went to 7bolts.. you can tell my looking at your oil pan.

that and I dont think there were to many AWD"s that didn't come turbocharged but i could be wrong there... so although there wouldn't be any deference in the engine if it is turbocharged there would likely be a deference in the cars ECU and duh the turbocharger. and the boost gauge in the dash etc.

no AWD's came w/o a turbo --

its 91 1/2 + that went to 7bolt
awd/fwd motors are the same

So, you can just look at the oil pan to see if it's a 6-bolt or not?

yea look at VFAQ they tell you what to check for on the oil pan, there is a bump that goes into the pan on one of the two and i think is extruded on the other.. just look at the VFAQ page it can tell you how to check.
