should my egt probe be tapped pre or post turbo??? My egt gauge reads 1600 after a few seconds @ WOT. I was concerned about this and talked to a mechanic about it. He said because it is tapped pre turbo, its probobly ok. Is this guy full of shhh???? Any feedback is appreciated fellas. PeaCE

Lower you boost, you are too lean at 1600 and you are probably detonating, you should tap into the exhaust manifold. But if you want to richen up insted of lowering the boost, get a warlbor 190 or 255, some 550s or bigger and a Super AFC. Keep in mind if you get a warlboro 255 you nee a fuel pressure regulator.

550s and a 190 will do fine with a Big 16G, but go with the Apexi Super AFC for fuel control...its the best.

Im putting in the Greddy e-01 bosst controller and the e-manage system so now I will be able to control my air/fuel system with that. I may need to upgrade my pump and injectors as I am putting in a big 16g as well.

He pmed me, he is running stock everything, including the stock 14# of boost. There is no way you are getting 1600 on the pyrometer. I think that either the gauge or the probe is messed up, or the combination of both, there are people on here with alot of mods and dont even see 1200 on the pyro.

Have you checked for vaccum leaks? Search on here how to make a leak tester and do that, you need a pocketlogger to really do anything else, could be clogged injectors, bad plugs, bad wires, O2's going bad, a number of things, you should invest in a pocketlogger, or find someone hwo has one.

Hi Guys.

I'm a newbie to this forum.

I have installed a BLITZ EGT. I notice that the EGT probe was installed on the downpipe about 6 inches away from the turbo.

On 3/4 throttle the reading is 600c. Whereas cruising is 450c and idle 300c.

My question is, is the probe installed too far away from the turbo? cause I've seen and heard that the probe is suppose to be as close to the turbo as possible and preferable before the turbo (ie at the ex. manifold).

Thanks guys.

S-AFC is really good, however, Greddy's e-manage is way better. It's alot powerful than S-AFC, but finding the right people to set e-manage is kinda hard.
