Sounds like a lot of people just want to fool around with a bunch of stuff for the hell of it. I don’t need anything link doesn’t have to spool up on the line and make a pass.

For an all out drag car something with more programmable ins and outs is a good idea. But if you can’t run 9’s with link you aren’t a serious drag car yet.

A newer ecu like the ecu master has self tuning abilities so all u do it drive it and it fixes fuel and spark hands free. That's a big bonus for the amateur like me.

100% honest I would want a newer ecu for sequential injection and ability to fire each coil and have variable timing on each cylinder so they run even on knock. Maximize fuel mileage for highway cruises and strip pulls. The stick computer seems to just throw all the fuel at it at once. At 90mph it just dumps in fuel and runs pig rich.

It is damn near impossible for an ecu to figure out a timing map. Also widebands are not accurate at all, and you should never ever blindly trust one on anything that has a risk of burning down.

Spark plugs don’t lie.


If you’re learning to tune all those different parameters and you’re looking for sensor feedback only to guide you as you learn to tune you will go through engines. Especially if you’re at a power level warranting that kind of ecu power.


There is probably 1,000x the info and support for link than all other solutions combined. Learn to tune a car first without complicated software in the way. Learn the basics of writing fuel and timing maps. And more important get to know what kind of afr and timing that your engine likes.
