Eclipse vs Jetta

I have a question. Do you think i can beat a 200 Jetta GLX?? The guy is a jerk..always says that he will kill me like there is no tomorrow. I know his car is VR 6, but it's automatic. I drive a 99 GS 5 spd with a aem intake, and a apexi muffler. He has no mods done to the Jetta.Do ya think I can take him..I know how to drive a little..definitelly can take him at the take off . I just want to know if anyone ever raced a 2000 VR6 Jetta auto.???? 2000 GLX supposed to be 174hp.

i thinkits 200 hp my friends a big vw guy. But im pretty sure he will take you thats a big hp diff even with an auto

its 200hp... there is no way. he has about 60hp to the crank on you. not to mention the jetta is lighter than the eclipse..

trust me.. i have a jetta gli, 4-banger with a turbo.. 180hp.. it would beat the shit out of a stock eclipse.

they are not 200hp. I checked everywhere. Tahat is what everyone thinks thou. You can check at http://autos.msn.com/research/vip/overview.aspx?modelid=1580&src=vip they increased the power to 200 hp starting with 2002 model. 2000 is 2.8 174 hp.

Jetta wights 4080 lbs..I checked the sticker in his car...Eclipse weights 3800lbs. I smoke the 2.0 Jetta..Never tried 1.8 t...those older than 2002 have 150 hp so could beat them.Starting in 2002 They increased 1.8t from 150 to 180 and the vr6 from 174 to 200. I know for sure

Where the hell have you been weighing eclipses? Even a fully loaded AWD does not weigh that much. Are you sure your not looking at the fully loaded weight vs the curb weight? Standard GS weighs around 3000lbs. Jetta GLI weighs 3179lbs.

Hes right though a NT dsm stock just does not have the hp to hang with a jetta.

That is the stupidest thing I've ever read. Isn't there a rule that you shouldn't post if you have no idea in hell what you are talking about.

i think someones a little mad cause there wrong about some things, but the car should beat u, the vr6 is a good motor and has a nice torque rate through out the rpm range,
