is there any 6 speed transmissions out there for 2nd gen eclipse gsx's? or would a lancer mr 6 speed work without much modification? or does any one have any suggestions on good aftermarket/performance trannys?

thanks.

I think If I'm correct the Evo engine sits the other way well the new ones anyway unless your talking about an older Evo.

ok, so does anyone have any suggestions on what kind of tranny to go with?

Whats wrong with yours? Just get a performance rebuild beef it up. The BM Trannies are good I think thats the name the ones that cost a little over 2k those will last forever.

mine is shot, can't even be used for a core, it's cracked in a couple different places. don't know what the kid that had it before me did to it, i don't think i did it, as i only had it a few months before the tranny problems apparently killed a virtually brand new clutch and flywheel. so i'm just looking for a good aftermarket or something... so any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Go fopr the TRE if you can afford it there not to expensive and are very worth it.

This topic has been beaten to death in the past!

First of all, there isn’t really a good reason to get a 6 speed tranny, other than to brag about the fact that you have a 6 speed tranny. It goes very well with a twin-turbo DSM…

If you want to learn why this is a bad idea, do a search for “6 speed”, there are already many threads on this topic and some of them actually have some pretty information.

If you still fell like there is something left to be discussed, post in one of those existing threads that you find most applicable.
