Up to a 4 inch drop. WOW. :notgood: And what's up with the 25 set screws. Personally I think you get what you pay for and this is ebay junk.

most coilovers allow about that much drop and the set screws position the spring perches so that they dont slide around on your shock.

I can't say that I've used those or anything similar, but I've always avoided any parts that are sold in bulk on eBay (ie. generic intakes, springs, coilovers, etc). I've heard not so great things about them (such as the same spring rate for several kinds of cars, etc), and figure it's always best to go with tried and true products from reputable companies.

Yeah, I thought that's what they were for. I can see hitting a hard bump or pothole and having those things slide down the shock and having your wheel get jammed up in the fender. I wouldn't trust them.

I just installed a set similar of these on my 1G tonight. You do get what you pay for! The rear fit just fine, though the collars were bigger than the strut body. I guess that is why they give you a 1/4" thick rubber sheet. I ended up cutting it in half long ways and filling that gap with it. The front ones on the other hand, were an issue. I wasn't sure how much of the old stuff (other than the spring, obviously) I was supposed to reuse. When I slid the threaded collar on the strut, it went all the way down inside the stock spring perch, which pretty much covered up the holes for the set screws. I ended up putting it in upside down. The next problem was that the ring that the new spring sits on hits the raised portion of the stock perch, so if you wanted to lower it the full 4 inches, you can't. I didn't want to go that low anyway, so it wasn't a big deal. What is a big deal is the fact that my car now rests on the front bumpstops with only a moderate drop, even after cutting them in half. I won't say any more about that because you can only expect to do so much with stock spec stuts. That one is my fault. Other than that the spring rates are quite a bit stiffer than stock, which is fine if you aren't looking for a cushy ride. With my 45 series 17's I have about a finger width gap between the tire and the fenderwells. It looks good, but I think tommorow I will raise it back up a bit and try to get at least some travel out of the front suspension. Eventually I will get the proper struts, but seeing as how I just bought the ones I have on there now about 6 months ago, I will live with it for a while...

Oh, and does anyone know what the hell all those rubber o-rings are for?
