Eagle rods, no more 6bolt rod bearings?

Like the title reads, is this true? I just placed an order with extremepsi.com for some weisco pistons/ealge rods for my 7bolt and the sales rep. said no need for 6bolt rod bearings since ealge has changed their rods now. Went with weisco/eagle, cometic HG, arp main/head/rod bolts, acl .30 rod bearings, clevitt .10main and so forth. Just double checking as to what you guys knew about the new rods. And is it safe to put a new street disk into my act pressure plate? or do i need new clutch kit. Thanks.

i wouldnt use 6-bolt bearrings for a 7-bolt rod.

well it was my understanding that earlier eagle rods required the use of 6bolt rod bearings . Thats what im trying to clear up with me.

Yes, the older Eagle rods did use 89/90 year (6 bolt) rod bearings. When did he say they guit using this design?

As far as iam aware you use the normal 7 bolt bearings. At least eagle says on there site, I have also heard that it will say on the inside of the box also. I ordered some 3 weeks ago and my box says nothing on it.

yep the 1g bearings are larger than 7bolt rods and the eagle design even for 7bolts use 6bolt bearing dimensions

So is there a chance that the sales rep got his information wrong, telling me to go ahead and order 7bolt rod bearings? also is it safe to use a new street disk in the old pressure plate from act? I ask becuase after taking it the clutch apart the disk springs seems a bit loose.Id rather replace the disk now, then have to drop the tranny again. Cltuch and flywheel only have about 30k miles on them.

The only difference between the bearings is the width.

My 6 bolt Easgle rods, that I got 3 months ago, had a sticker that said to make sure to use the 6bolt bearings.
