Okay, recently i bought a 98 gsx with a 6 bolt swap and basic mods. But my CEL is on with the codes P0141 and P0446, rear o2 sensor and something with evap.

So, heres my question...

1. Now, I need to pass NY inspection, i was told i can just get rid of the codes with DSM Link and pass inspection, is this true?

- if i can do this, can i just delete evap, rip it all out?

Heres my other questions...

*2. Whenever im coming to a stop, like everyone else i push my clutch in, take it out of gear into neutral and then roll to the stop hitting the brake. but once i put my car in neutral the rpms drop really low and the car is about to die, every time i go to stop it does this, only stalled on me once so far. is this normal?

3. where can i buy all new rear suspension? Like new oem control arms for the rear?

4. do i need my rear o2 sensor? i am running really really lean at idle right now, like 16.5-17.8 it bounces around between there, and my idle fluctuates alot. if i get a rear o2 and dsm link will my idle be better?

thanks

1. Yes you can set ecmlink to ignore CEL codes..
1b. are you sure all of that stuff isn't already ripped out I've never known anybody who did a 6 bolt swap and kept the Evap stuff.

2. Was the car sitting for a long time before you bought it may be the fuel is bad?

3. I'm not sure about that maybe rockauto.com.. Somebody else will have to help you with that.

4. The only reason you have a rear o2 sensor is to make sure your catalytic converter is working properly it will not control whether or not your car is running rich or lean. But you do not need the sensor although it will trigger a check engine light (ecmlink should be able to ignore it)

Do you have a lightened flywheel? that can cause that, or a bad ICS

There's a bunch of vendors (on this board and otherwise) that sell rear suspension components. OEM, aftermarket, upgraded, etc., whatever you want.

Awesome, thanks for the info. Got any idea as to why i am so lean at idle?

Like who? Who makes aftermarket control arms for our cars? Maybe even aftermatket sub frames?

I just passed NYS inspection two weekends ago, you can set ECM Link to ignore the codes. Even though on link it stated that the readiness of the sensors (rear 02 & cat) was incomplete, it still passed the inspection machine no problem. The only issue I had was passing the visual inspection because I have no cat.

Post a log up of running lean at idle.

Like who? Who makes aftermarket control arms for our cars? Maybe even aftermatket sub frames?
Aftermarket control arms: I'm sure there's a few but don't know of any off hand. Aftermarket subframe: probably no one makes that. But you did say "3. where can i buy all new rear suspension? Like new oem control arms for the rear? " "All new rear suspension" includes a lot of parts, not just control arms and subframes. Anyway, to answer your question of who, check the Supporting Vendors list on this site. Many of them will carry most of the rear suspension components. We also carry most of those parts but we're not a supporting vendor.

I know i said oem but before hand i couldnt find sny aftermarket rear suspension items so i figured there was only oem, but now i cant find oem components either. And yeah i know there is more, i wand a new knuckle, control arm, trailing arm, etc.

I don't have ecmlink on my car (will one day) but I messed with a friends before it's very straight toward without asking.I went in and tweaked with his settings, made it to where his cel turned on when there were more than 5 counts of knock and forgot to tell him about it drive him nuts LOL.. Good thing I did it though because he was have a lot of knock.

And I'd like to add, running lean at idle can be normal as long as it's in the 17-18 range and your cruising is in the 14-15 range.. However, it could also mean a pre wideband leak or maybe some of the caps are leaking in your ecu

During cruising (constant speed) you should see close to#14.7.. During a wot pull you shouldn't see anything over 11.7

sweet, i just went for a drive, yeah when im cruisin around my air fuel is good, at around 14-15 . and at wot its like 10.5-11.9
