Ok,

First of all, I do not mean to start a big net arguement. I just wanan know the truth here.

I wash washing/waxing my 1995 Dodge Avenger today and found several DSM factory stickers on it. I am posting the one from the engine bay. There are several in the door jams as well.

So, from what I can tell the online "DSM" crowd doesn't consider my 2.0L NON TURBO Avenger a DSM..........WHY!!!???

Thanks

Joe

It was built at the DSM plant, yes.

You'll get a lot of people who will say it isn't, but if it has the stickers, it is.

You are awesome......

So besides being built at a DSM plant, is there anything else "special" about it?

Or did it just have the "privelidge" of being made in the same factory as the turbo'd DSM's ;)

Thanks again

Joe

DSM stands for Diamond Star Motors. It was pretty much a colaboration between Mitsubishi(Diamond) and Chrysler(Star). The Eclipse and the Laser (and talon) were the launched from the factory built through this colaboration.
there's more info on it here

Yes your vehicle is a DSM, however for the purpose of this website a DSM refers to Eagle Talon/Plymouth Laser/Mitsubishi Eclipse...since all three cars share similiar characteristics. The Avenger and Sebring come from the same plant.

If it'd help any, you can put an Eclipse or Talon front-end on that thing.

Or, just use it like the pretty good car it is.

Oh, and don't post posts about your posts, flyboy.

It wasn't my intention to "post about my posts", I also introduced myself.......but it was nice of you to say hi

Are the stealth and the 3000GT considered DSM's ornot, cuz they are made by mitsu and dodge?

I'm saying that if they have the "DSM" sticker, then technically they are DSM's. But the general DSM crowd are the turbo'd DSM's.......from what I can gather

I say it's a DSM if it comes with a 4G63 stock (eclipses, talons, and lasers with 420a are just better looking neons)

So you are saying that even if they have a factory DSM sticker, they are not DSM?

Your wrong ;)

I remember hearing that 2Gs dont have DSM stickers because they weren't made by DSM anymore
