DSM=Belt noise?!

Are DSM's notrious for having belt noise? My belt won't quit squealing, I am going to have it tightened on friday....but it is so annoying. My girlfriend also have a N/T DSM & her belt squeeks too, but not too bad. I was just wondering....Thanks guys

Yep tighten up that tensioner. All cars do this.

I had some belt noise. Changed the power steering belt and it was all good after that.

lots of guys posting being helpful, i wanted to ask, to tighten the tensioner is it that half inch fitting thats normally in tensioners, im baffled.

I get the belt noise in the winter when the temp changes, becasuse the tension changes.

cause tho im in FL it still can be cold at night to cause this, because its only until warmup of course, it just sounds ultra ghetto on startup.

i had it tighend anyways

it does not squeek anymore

Its not really a DSM notorious problem, its more of a typical car problem.
