i put in a new tranny and clutch (act 2600) in my car and now when the car (1990 tsi awd) is in any gear there seems to be a noise coming from the xfer case/driveshaft, it sounds like the splines are slipping or something ... i removed the xfer case and discovered no oil in it at all but it seemed to move freely and be ok (don't know for sure). but i did notice that the drive shaft is not completly on the xfer case (i dont know how to better explain that ... there is about 2 to 3 inches from the "base" or end and the xfer case) is this normal ... i can post a pic tomorrow but right now my car is a buds shop. or is my xfer case fubared ... not a very big deal but this problem is more annoying than anything.

Well, First, Fill the X-case up with fluid. 2nd, get a pic, it shouldnt stick out, Cause the Careier bearings should be holding it in, unless there shot,

yeah that's what i thought, but all the dsm "gurus" here are convenced that is NOT the problem ... i need to get over there so i can get a picture
