Try lots of penetrating oil and an impact driver with a short socket. A must have for working on old stuff. !

Try lots of penetrating oil and an impact driver with a short socket and several washers inside socket, a pipe wrench on the impact driver adds extra torque. Not much pressure is needed the hammer takes a lot of stress off the threads ! A must have for working on old stuff. !

Additional details
Add several washers or a nut to the socket to keep it from touching the base, a pipe wrench on the impact driver adds extra torque. Not much pressure is needed the hammer takes a lot of stress off the threads ! A must have for working on old stuff. !
