Does anyone even have a camber kit??

Most cars I've read about that drop at 2.0" are in need of a front camber kit. The smallest degree of camber I've seen on the front is Ingallls at +1.25 to +3.0
I figured that if their gonna be right there puting on the struts and springs why not go head and put on the camber kits at the same time to save money, instead of doing things twice. Just tring to plan ahead.

Now the should I also wait on the rear camber kit's? I would think it is a gaurantee that it'll be out of camber. So wait, I wouldn't think so......
I understand what your saying.....why didn't you say something sooner thats all. Theirs not to many good threads on dropping your car. Step by step or how to's and what not to's.......I'll find out though, thanks.

well, gst you just got the best advice rite there; drop it first..... i know our cars are different, but i used tokico and sportlines, and i got over a 2.25 drop in the front and just over 2.0 dorp in the rear, and i only need 1.5 deg. of camber in the rear and i didnt need any in the front. i know your trying to save money by doing it all at once, but what if the setup you went with you wont need any camber adj in the front; then you still wasted money.

no problem. just do what you've been doing research and take your time with the mods you do, so far its paid off. your post times and make power i'm jealous of and the car looks great. good luck with the rest

You know.....
I've been working on this thing forever and you would think that I would know everything there is to know about an Eclipse by now. BUT, if I haven't came to that modification in my own car then it's all new to me. I hate not knowing.......
And dropping your car seems to be extremely different from car to car. I've seen cars with Pro kits 1.3" and they were slammed just as much Sportlines and then others that weren't. I understand that it's relative to wheels and tire sizes.
I did learn that Specialty Products and Eibach camber kit are made by the same manufacture. I thought they looked similar in pic's but wasn't quite sure.
Funny.... I didn't want the Eibach's but I bought the SP's.

well even though you didnt want them i think you made a good choice with the sp's. well it's 5:00 and i have to pick up my wife from work at 5:30, got to go now because i dont have my eclipse, and i'm driving her crappy jeep liberty. be back in about an hour.

if someone has pictures of your kits, can you take a but load of pictures of them cause i have a CNC lathe and CNC milling machine. I could almost definatly make these things for like nothing. My email is [email protected] if someone can take pics with like a ruler from all angles.

Peace
Kris

gstspeedracer, i already emailed you about his but i gotta say it again, your car is so tight. those rims are definetly doin it for me. thats what ive been wanting to do ever since a few months ago when i saw a red eclipse show car in a super street , red w/those rims.

I concur! gstspeedracer, I have to believe your car rides like crap though. No? Am I wrong? Like I said, I love the look with the 18's, but with the car so low, you must have so little wheel travel. Stiff sidewall 18's, probably stiff suspension too. So, hows it ride?

I have my 1G AWD lowered about 1/4" in front with 400's and 1.25" in rear with 350's and I occasionally bottom out. I gotta believe you are doing it all the time. Care to enlighten us?

As far as not going with a camber kit goes, I have had my car lowered ~3" for about a month or so and haven't gotten around to getting a camber kit and I don't notice any wear on my tires. I got an alignment as soon as possible after I got it lowered to correct the toe and haven't noticed any wear since. The front is +2 degrees and the back is +1.5 if I remember correctly.

I have a question about installing a camber kit though. Now that I have the money, after having to pay insurance and replace my clutch, I have been looking at different camber kits. The kit that Extreme sells says that with their kit you don't have to use a press to remove the bushings.

Quote: "As with the other kits, our Extreme Technologies kits are used when installing any lowering springs on the FWD or AWD second generation DSMs. Unlike the others, though, these kits allow the camber to be adjusted across a range of adjustments at install time. The front kit adjusts between 1.75 and 3.25 degrees of positive camber. Also, the front kit is much easier to install than the above kits, as this one doesn't require that you use a press to remove the factory bushings."

Is that true? I would be willing to pay a little more if it meant that I could do it at home in my garage without having to have any special equipment. I like to do things myself, well as much as I can anyway.

Has anyone installed the Extreme kit? Is it really easy to do?
