Just wondering if the transfer case needs to be dropped to do the drivers axle seal or if you can install it with the transfer case still on there?

Why appologize? Dropping the transfer case is only 7 bolts away. 2 nuts for the downpipe, and 5 for the case itself. What is a pain in the butt is actually getting the axle out
