I have a question I need help with. Its about turbo back exhaust systems. I have heard of different companies designing exhaust systems for the o2 housing to dump out into the atmosphere and then design some exhaust systems to redirect it back into the exhaust piping. What is the difference between these two methods? Sound? Performance? I have not been able to find anything that can explain this to me. I would appreciate any advice and help. Thanks.:dsm:

I actually ordered an exhaust system that was turbo back 3inches in diameter and I orignially ordered it for the 02 housing to dump into the atmosphere but the company mistakenly sent me the downpipe with the 02 redirecting it back into the piping. I was wondering if there is a difference in this. If i should wait to get the correct downpipe or live with what I have got? The difference in price was not much at all. Thanks again!

The dump tube vents the exhasut gas to the atmosphere, similar to when a BOV is vented to the atmosphere. When the tube is rerouted to the downpipe, it just means that the exhasut gases have been rerouted back into the exhaust, just as if they were never "blown off" by the wastegate. The dump to the atmosphere sounds louder, then if it is rerouted into the downpipe, exspically at WOT I heard. The dump to atmosphere is suppose to eliminate the chance of boost creep I believe, and it is also suppose to add some horsepower, not sure if it is that substantial, becasue it frees up the exhasut flow.
