Well after seeing a lot of other cars with the tail light center section painted I am figuring out if I want to do mine on my black 1997 eclipse gst. I have searched the gallery for about 2 hours now and the few posts I could get to show pics and none of them were of black cars. If you have painted the center section on your eclipse taillights on a black car preferebly, could you please post a picture? Also wondering if flat black would look good or not on just this peice.

If your going to paint it black paint all three pieces not just one. ive seen it on black eclipse. I dont like it. But thats just me.

WTF are you even talking about guy? Painting the F'ing tailights? :banghead:WTF

and yes Black dizzums look sexxxay with powdercoated center lights :hellyeah::D

yes you should definitely paint your center section. I had a black 97 GSX and painted mine black and looked much better. Dont paint all 3, or paint the center and tint the taillights. The best clean look is a gloss or flat black in the center with stock tails. I dont have a pic of mine but it was between a gloss black and flat black. Either one will look way better than the stock red. To give you a cool idea, if you want to be more different..you can tape off the "eclipse" letters on the center section, paint the center section black, then remove the letters. When its finished it will be black but the eclipse letters will be red still, just an idea though.

Well I don't plan on tinting the actual tail lights. But if I do it won't be very dark at all, I like the stock tail lights but if anybody has any pics of the center piece painted that would be awesome to get an idea of what it could look like.

just search the galleries on here! I would say like 75% of people with black dsm's paint their center tailight. Just do some researching.

Heres mine, I like it. Sorry the picture was taken with my cell phone.

Thanks! I tried searching the gallery for black, black eclipse, eclipse, center, taillight, painted center. All I found was one with it painted with the clear tail lights.

Here is a picture of my old black 2g. I would do it, it brings it out more. I am in the process of dropping my new white 2g off at the paint shop on monday and I will be painting that section to match.

Where are you stationed man? Your 2g looks freakin HAWT!

Thanks guys! I like how it looks but I almost wish I had another center panel to do it to and keep mine like it is because it and the eclipse letters are in such good shape.
