dead cooling fan?

My cooling fan has not been coming on (overheating at idle) and I was just wondering if when I turn the AC on, are both fans supposed to come on? I think my cooling fan is dead.

Both fans should come on when you turn on the A/C. at least on my car they do. If they do, then your fan switch is bad. Located on the bottom of the radiator net to the lower hose. Unplug the wiring connector from the switch, jump it out witha paper clip, if the fan works, then the switch is bad. If the fan doesnt work, then it's probably the fan.
