hey guys got a question for ya. a few days ago i plugged in my data logger and it was working fine i had checked my injectors to see if they were ok and it checked out ok. now yesterday i plugged in the data logger and something weird happened, this time around it kept telling me that the link was down and it couldnt connect to the ecu but thats not the weird part the weird part is that every time it tried to connect to the ecu the car would all of a sudden idle very low and stumble as if it was about to turn off  when i would hit disconnect the idle would return to normal and every time i tried to connect it would do the same thing  i was unable to connect to the ecu i did everything as i would normaly do when i would try to data log but it just wont catch it, i then started to think that the ecu is bad itself but so far i had no problems with the car it drives fine and i have been through 3 ecu's before on my previouse 1g so i do know what a bed ecu would be. any one ever went through this while trying to log? by the way i dont have a pocket logger i have the logger cable a old laptop runnin 95 on it and TMO software

Does it matter if the serial end of the cable is attached to the laptop or not? Your cable may be shorting out.

You sure you have 1g ODB1 selected? I think my buddy had this problem when he had it set up for the 2g config.

 not sure what you mean i thought ODB1 and ODB2 are to difrent kinds of plugs? i have a 1g so i know its ODB1 and there is no settings in the data logger software itself to switch from 1g or 2g

thats possible as when i took the cable off the laptop the car would idle back up to normal and then when i would connect it back up to the laptop and hit connect it would start the problem again. i think ill try to hook it up to my sisters eclipse if it does the same thing then definetly its the cable or laptop
