at idle im only cranking out 2.1 amps. my altenator is fine. we tested it. im getting a ticking sound back my the intake mani, i dont know what that is. anyone have any idea? im also getting a thumping almost like hollow sound in sync with idle coming loudest from my air filter. ive been having clutch issues, not the turning left and pedal drops just i think i had air in my lines. had it bled today feels better hopefully it stays that way. anyway anyone know what the ticking is what the thumping is. and also why i might have been only cranking out 2.1 amps at idle. could it have been cause i had a bad ground connection on the battery cause i found it was a lil loose. please help this ticking is mad loud and new at that. and another thing, my car idles right around 500-600 rpm's and on cold starts the belts screetch for about 5 seconds tops. plkease help. mainly im concerned with the ticking and thumping and y i was only cranking out 2.1 amps at idle. please help. thanks guys

Perhaps the ticking you speak of is good old lifter tick.. or possibly injector tick (fuel injectors) Mine started ticking right before one of em crapped out on me.

Other stuff i have no idea. Also, if you've been driving aroudn with air in your clutch line, that is bad news...

The ticking is your injectors. Maybe your battery needs to be replaced. Have your idle reset by the dealer or someone who has a scan tool. Not everyone problem is crankwalk.

we tested just the battery and it was fine. do i have to replace the injectors? cause i tried that fuel injector overhaul cleaner stuff and it still does this. i read in a search it could be some solenoid on top of the intake mani ticking........... i dunno im stressin over all this way too much

wow man this car has been nothing but problems for you. i hope it not cw man. to me it doesnt sound like it. i think u have a few other smaller problems. like the injector tick he was talking about. im not sure im no mechainc. good luck.

i fund a better way to describe the thumping coming from the air filter. it didnt dstart untill i installed my uicp and bov. its more of a hollow thumping sound. like if u took an empty toilet paper roll and put ur palm of ur hand on one end and tapped the other end with ur other hand. that hollow tapping sound is exactly what it sounds like. again this isnt too loud like the ticking im getting by the intake mani. u have to listen for this. anybody else get this? please help. also whats my fix for the ticking and the thumping?

I think injector tick is normal, mine does it.

change/tighten your alternator and belt... will fix the voltage/squeek... the thumping ticking has always been there, it is just more pronounced now that you have somthing that is reverberating the sounds instead of deadening them like the stock rubber/plastic pipes from your TB to your airbox...

I agree Brian, I do believe it's a simple case of lifter tick. However, continue to drive it a few days and continue to look for the symptoms of crankwalk. If you have any emergency that you need answered, feel free to IM me and we'll discuss it.
