:dsm: Does anyone know where i can pick up some aluminum tubing or anything of the equivelent...i need roughly a 3 in. outer diameter...i plan on building my own intake...and i dont want to use pvc because it puts of a vapor that is bad for the engine...any suggestions? :dsm:

home depot in the air duct and venting supplies sellz a few diff sizes of aluminum piping. I have a 3 7/8zinch, i think aluminum piping intake tube. its flexible and larger inside than stock rubber hose for my 1.8. Make sure u get some rubber clampz and measure the TB and MAF sensor housing so u get a good tight fit and with the venting tubing ur intake will sound great. gL

What i did was used the stock tubing just past the bybass tube and then used a rubber connector with a 3.5 inner diameter to the tubing and then another rubber connector to the goose neck of the stock tube that went into the stock airbox and then attached that to the cone filter...but i want to use aluminum because i heard that PVC puts of a vapor that can be bad for the engine...i dont really want to use some type of flexable tubing just because i dont want all that movement in the assembly...i just dont know where to find the aluminum tubing i need...i'm soon going to buy a damn intake off of ebay for about 20 bucks...:dsm:

i know what u mean, i did the same thing.

i went to a parts store called 'Lordco', anyways, i asked for 3" mandrel bent exhaust pipping(i got a U shape and it worked perfect) and i think it was made by 'DynoMax" and it worked perfect. i patinted it an anodized blue color and u'd never know it wasn't pro. it needed on weld inth emiddle, but i grinded it down. i
ll try to get pics up, so pm me
