1st off its a 91 gsx with a freshly installed rebuilt with less than 100 miles. Heres the deal, to start with my hg is -10 at idle instead of the -17 to -23 it should be. I have no boost controller installed (its sitting right here on my comp desk) and only have the lil rubber plug in bcs pulled along with wider vac hoses. In first gear full throttle boost hits 10psi and doesnt go any further. When I did my breakin runs I saw this and basically been letting my foot off the gas at 10 and not trying to go past 10 untill my break in miles have come. So today im highway cruising in fourth maybe 50 miles a hour and decide to push it a lil and holy shit the boost needle bounces off of a 20psi gauge, so probly hit like 23 psi. Slowed down put it in 3rd and same thing. Stopped put it in 1st and it goes no further than 10 psi no matter what. The other thing is I know my car was pulling 14psi before the rebuild and today when it hit 20+? its like it wasnt pushing nearly as much power as the car did at 14 before. Like it wasnt all going into the cylinders. So my end result question of this is that I had a bunch of parts powder coated and one of them was a bov since I have a extra one. Is the bov toast from the heat and maybe leaking majorly or is something else wrong? Im gonna start polishing the extra bov to test it out tommorrow.

When you were hitting 20+psi your timing was probably being pulled real bad. Thats why you felt more power at 14psi than 20+. Your timing and knock count was probably alot better at 14.

Well I just pulled that bov out in my garage and put the other one on. Im not gonna drive it till tommorrow so I hope this fixes it. Has anyone had this happen before, if so give some feed back.

Mine is crazy to i have a boost controller and i turn it all the way down and it still boosts to like 20 or 22 it sucks cause it just sounds like its blowing air and no power compared to like 15 psi i dont wanna run it at that much boost its to much and i cant figure out whats worng i think it might be the crack in my exhaust manifold but i already got my 2nd gen in my garage just waiting for my exhaust to come in from RNR to do it all at one time. let me know what fixes it man

i have the same problem with a stock bov that is crushed it was fine at 15psi but i turned it downto 10 and it isn't running well at all
i am missing a cat and at idle now it wants to die
have any ideas on that
thanks
